The charming Mini May gets its first ever live outing - Brian May & Kerry Ellis perform The Beatles' deep cut "Tell Me What You See" (from the 1965 "Help" LP) at The Obihall in Firenze, Italy, February 24th 2016.
A passionate, long-term Brian May Guitars fan, with a BMG Super, three Specials, Frank, a Rhapsody and Mini May in his on-stage arsenal for Pozytyvni.Pl and tribute act Queen Band, virtuoso Polish axeman Rafal Tudruj demonstrates exactly how big and expressive this travel sized guitar can be through a VOX VT40X amplifier.
Another marvellous Mini May masterclass - consummate Milanese virtuoso Frank Campese (guitarist with Italian power metal proggers Chronosfear and Queen tribute, Stones Cold Crazy) delivers his travel sized take on Dr. Brian May's "Brighton Rock" solo from Queen's triumphant '86 performance at Wembley Stadium.
Bought this guitar for my son, who is learning to play electric guitar. It's his third guitar after a Squier Jazzmaster mini, and a Jackson Rhoads Minion, and gosh, I can understand why our beloved maestro, Sir Brian May, accepted to sign this particular creation. It‘s super small, sounds like a accoustic guitar when not plugged, with a hell of a sound for any genre of music. The manufacturing is perfect, a friend of mine who knows how to play these instruments very well, even with his very tonic playstyle, was also impressed by the ability of the guitar to remain in tune, which is not always a given in this price range. I must admit I hesitated 6 months ago, when my son started his lessons to offer him immediately the Mini May (online shopping, UK outside of EU implying additional delivery and customs fees, slightly more expensive than other popular travel guitar brands etc.), and well, I would not hesitate again in the future. The guitar arrived 3 days after order. So future buyers can imagine it for their own little rockers, my son is currently 1.3m tall (4ft 3") so, with the guitar is in his hands, it‘s roughly the same ratio as Sir May with his Red Special on stage. A perfect fit! In comparison, other short travel guitars from known brands look gigantic. Thanks to BMG to have created it!
I just love it.
It's awesome to see my son watching QUEEN videos and pretending to play. Hope soon he will start playing the Red Special for real.
